Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we are going to take a look at Venus beginning the process of her ascent as an evening star and hitting a trine to Uranus and the sign of Taurus, which is one of Venus's home signs. In the process that's happening over the next few days, there will then be a sequence of further trines from the sun and Mars, eventually Mercury.
So we're going to take a look today at Venus's trine to Uranus and talk about it within the context of her rising and recovery into Evening Star phase, which I think is going to add a little bit more depth to the trine than we might otherwise think about. So I hope you'll find this useful today.
Before we get into it, remember to like and subscribe. If you are not yet subscribed, it takes two seconds. Click the subscribe button. That helps us grow so much, we appreciate it. You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks always on the website, Nightlight Astrology.com.
Now when you're over there, remember our Master Class series on the decans is starting this week. It is not too late to join. Go over to the Courses page. Click on the Master Class series to see everything you need to know about our journey through the decans, which is taking place through 12 classes, three per quarter.
We start our first three signs and three series of decans this week. So there'll be three classes, about six hours worth of content, about two hours per sign, working through the decans. It's going to be a great program. So check that out.
Our third year course is also starting next month. The guild membership is starting this week. A lot of good things starting up here in the new year. Go over to the events page. You're also going to find that our speaker series later this month. These are free talks to attend.
You get the recording if you can't attend live. Stormy Grace, Alexandra Blair, Rod Chang, these are great astrologers that are with us, sponsored by the Kickstarter. So you get to go to those for free. They get paid nicely. We do that through the Kickstarter campaign as a way of saying thanks to our audience.
So be sure to check those out. We also have spots left in our retreat in Mexico in June. That's still open. Check that out. And then, if you go to live talks, you're going to see that my upcoming talk on the 10th house is taking place on January 22.
We're going to look in depth at the ancient meaning of the 10th house and the degree of the midheaven, which has a different meaning and use in ancient astrology than it does in modern astrology. So talk about all of that. I think these are going to be some really nice talks coming up this month.
To get the recording for anything at Nightlight, if you can't attend live, just be sure to register in advance. All right, on that note, let's turn our attention to the real time clock. Here you can see we have some trines taking place. And wouldn't you know it, my epic pen is gone.
Let's get my epic pen out. Here we go. So you're going to see that today is January 14, and you know what, my epic pen is not going to work. Okay, sorry, guys, hold on. Just a second. Let me get this out of the way. Okay, hold on. Okay, here we go.
Sorry about that. I had to reset my epic pen program really quick so I can get it to work. Here's Venus at 26 degrees of Capricorn just separating from the sun after going through the rebirth of the cazimi, which we talked about at the beginning of the week.
Last week, we had the cazimi, as things are now gradually, very slowly separating, because their speeds are very similar, so they're traveling closely together. Venus is pushing out in front of the sun, and I'll show you the progression of this in a moment.
But this means that as she is recovering now and moving into Evening Star phase, we're going to see that she does this tomorrow, Thursday, January 15. This is in the morning Central Time, Venus will make a trine to Uranus.
Now if we push that forward one more day, we're going to see that the separation, give it about three degrees that totally perfects by Saturday. So in other words, between today Wednesday January 14 and let's give it to Saturday January 17, we're in the range of some very Uranian moments.
Now this is going to continue over the weekend, and we're going to be looking at this in its own separate episode. We're going to see the sun then goes through the trine on Saturday to Uranus, and then shortly after that, we're going to see that Mars also gets in on the action.
Mars will go through and Mercury, Mercury and Mars will conjoin, and they'll go through the same trine to Uranus by Monday, with Mars kind of fully pushing through all the way by Tuesday, January 20. So we have about a full week in front of us right now with many trines to Uranus.
Now, some of you may notice that this also means that we have a series of sextiles to Saturn and Neptune. I find that sextiles are a little bit harder to capture, but there are subtle, harmonious aspects to Saturn and Neptune, who are also harmoniously connected in their own sextile to Uranus in Taurus.
So I'm leaving that out because I find that incorporating the sextile along with the trine sometimes muddies things. And the very clear aspect, the one that will ring out like a bell, will be the trine. But there is subtle supportive influence from the sextiles to Saturn and Neptune that are in there, so playing around with the interconnection between the whole sign houses of Capricorn, Pisces and Taurus in your birth chart right now would be well worth your time just looking at how those whole sign houses are connecting in the next week, for example.
Now what I want to do next is just show you exactly what's happening with Venus. Venus is gradually separating from the sun, and when Venus gets to, oh, about 15 degrees of separation from the sun, that's when she appears as the morning star.
Now you're going to notice that that Venus, when she enters her exaltation in Pisces around February 10, is still only about nine degrees away from the sun. So we get 10 degrees away from the Sun by middle of February, and we don't fully now this is like February 19, and Venus is still just 11 degrees apart from the sun.
It's not until Venus passes through the trine to Jupiter, which I have circled as one of my most auspicious transits of the year in late February, right about the time of the Venus, or the Neptune Saturn conjunction, by the way, then we see Venus sort of slowly appearing as the Evening Star.
So it really isn't until about the early to middle part of March that we get Venus into her morning star or her Evening Star position. Excuse me, jumbling my words so her Evening Star position is something she is gradually moving into between now and all the way into about the early to middle part of March now.
I say that because what is important for us to recognize right now, as people who track astrology and pay attention to it in our lives, is that Venus is in the very early gestational stages of bringing something new into visibility, from invisibility, from the invisible seeding point.
You could think of a cazimi a little bit like a new moon. In that regard, you don't see the fruit of a moon cycle, typically, until the waxing gibbous into like the full moon, or even into the disseminating waning gibbous moon. The fruit kind of falls off the tree.
It's not until Venus appears as an evening star that you really see what's been cooking in the kitchen behind closed doors. And what makes this moment really important right now is that in the very early seeding period of Venus, sort of resetting herself and launching into this new cycle, she's hitting a very early trine to Uranus and Taurus, which is one of her home signs.
That trine is shaping the seeding moment. In other words, so whatever the seeds are, they carry the fruit. And in a seeding phase, whether it's a new moon or the Jupiter Saturn conjunction, whatever that moment is in any Synodic Cycle, the shape of the environment that the seeding is taking place in will give you hints and clues as to what's to come.
That's why this becomes a really important moment to be conscious of. By conscious, I mean pay attention to the themes we're looking at today, not just as one off themes that you're experiencing in the random chaos of life. I mean that level of things is always there because life is chaotic and hectic every single day, right for a lot of us.
Anyway, you know, we are getting through the stresses of everyday life, and things are coming at us, and it can be hard to step back and see the events connected to larger themes, larger storylines, larger arcs of time. I encourage you to be very thoughtful about what's happening over the next week, for sure, with all of these trines to Uranus, but even just the next couple of days with Venus, because this is her seeding moment.
She's in the stage where everything is being imprinted upon her that she's going to carry forth into her evening star appearance later on in March. And we're really going to get to see what she is contributing to this new phase.
I apologize. I'm still, like, two weeks after I got sick, I am still clearing out my it's like, my sinuses and everything. It's like, speaking of reset. Anyway, I have five things for you to watch for. Here they are in no particular order, and I even have a few bonus things I'll probably throw in here.
One, remember that a Venus seeding point, the cazimi, is a moment of purification for Venus. What I mean by this is anything that Venus represents and has been carrying that needed to be burned off or sloughed off or shed often happens during the combustion into the cazimi.
What survives that process, although pared down or maybe greatly reduced or refined in one way or another, is often exactly what's meant to be in the cycle to come. So that kind of sober realization, a lot of things fell apart. But this is what still matters, that trine.
This trine to Uranus, can liberate and bring forth things that are meant to endure, that are meant to keep going. Okay, there, there were some serious setbacks. There was a purification. There were clarifications that needed to happen around anything related to Venus.
My desires, what I find pleasurable or enjoyable, what I want that will bring me happiness. That's Venus at her core. Just what do I find enjoyable and pleasant and pleasing, and what do I want out of life that will, I think, bring me happiness? And it's an evolving thing with Venus always.
Well, Venus going through that combustion cazimi process may have sloughed off some values and desires that are no longer working or making you happy, but something could have survived as well. So the trine that's happening as Venus is separating trine Uranus is about things that feel more honest, things you feel liberated from, things that you had to let go of.
And now that doesn't mean everything's gone though. So some things that have survived the fire, in other words, that are ready to keep going, but maybe with a new look, a different aesthetic can emerge under a Venus combustion cazimi, an old way of being that maybe you just don't feel comfortable in anymore.
It's like clothing that you don't like to wear as much anymore. Too tight now you're finding things that are a little bit more comfortable to wear. You know, something like that can happen. It's very subtle, often very physical, with Venus in terms of something as basic as style.
But what survives is like in this example, would be like, well, there's still a lot of things in my closet that I'm holding on to, but I did a real deep, a deep evaluation of what I like wearing and what I don't. It's that kind of thing.
So right now, the trine to Uranus can be about that awakening sense of what you've left behind and what is still worth going with and what's been refined in the fire. So that's the first one that I have on my list.
Number two are quiet revolutions in desire. Now the cazimi is a moment of reset for Venus. And again, Venus, broadly speaking, what do I want out of life? What do I desire? I desire? You know, like every day we ask ourselves, what do you want for dinner? It's a Venus question.
What do I mean? On one level, it's about nourishment and nutrition, and so there has to be some, you know, some wisdom that's utilized, but it's also like, well, what will taste good? What will taste good out of life right now? That's a Venus question that comes under a deep level.
We scrutinize, we analyze, we assess, we let go, we shift our priorities around desire when Venus is reborn. But this is a long phase of invisibility that Venus has yet to go through, and so right now, the continued sense of things clarifying might make the in with Venus invisible, the trine and Uranus just coming off the cazimi might mean that there's some revolution, some shift, some very clear sense of what you want or don't want, and the values and desires that are going to guide the story going forward.
But this work is, it's invisible, still, right? So, you know, there can be a way in which there's a revolution happening, with respect to Venus, sex, love, desire, friendships, relationships, and just pleasure in general. But this revolution is something that, while it's clarifying itself, it could feel very exciting.
You're not going to necessarily see it coming into manifestation for a little while yet. So that's why I say it might be a somewhat quiet or behind the scene sense of something clarifying with respect to your desires, your desire body. Excuse me.
All right. The next thing that comes to my mind is, remember that this is a Venus that was just reborn in Capricorn, an earth sign. Saturn ruled earth sign. Mars exalted in the sign. And then it's trining Uranus in Taurus, another earth sign.
A question right now might be about resetting things in any kind of Venusian sphere, love, sex, desire, friendships, relationships, aesthetic, taste again, what do I want that will make me happy? But the emphasis on Earth is sort of like, well, what's practical here, what's sustainable, what will endure, what is not just fantasy or idealization, so structuring your life in a way that can make manifest the things that you find enjoyable, pleasing and sustainable and practically, practically useful.
I don't know what other word to use. I'm struggling to find my words here, but like if you think about for example, I want to feel better in my body. That's a very Venusian thing. I just want to feel happy in my body.
Well, this kind of Venus reset with the trine to Uranus can give you some very practical, long term, sustainable things that aren't very flashy, but that will lead you very practically to feeling better in your body. Like, well, you know, eat less processed foods. That's not very flashy, you know, but it is a revolution if you actually do it sustainably over a long period of time.
That's the Venus in Cap meets Uranus in Taurus. So rebuilding your relationship with pleasure or happiness or desire or sex or relationships, not with something super flashy, but something long term sustainable. Do it with effort and discipline over a long period of time, and you will feel happier, but it will also be sustainable, practically.
All right, number four would be when, you know, I always think of like Venus in Capricorn, and anything in Capricorn really, as asking about a long term trajectory. Commitments are very Capricornian commitments to things that you want and desire, but are going to take, like, a long term approach.
Not surprisingly, again, we're not going to actually see Venus in the evening until March. You got a few months to work at something right now, or to slowly develop something behind the scene that is rooted in something you find attractive or desirable or beautiful, something you want or long for, or something artistic that you're working on, but you have to awaken to the process, the plan, the structure, the incremental path to getting there.
And this can be a moment that kind of awakens you to the long term vision and realism that's required to get somewhere you want to go over a long period of time, and you can actually find the excitement and enthusiasm to go ahead and start doing it, to stick to it.
All right. Number five would be clarifying our yes and no. As much as Venus has to do with what we want, there's a very consistent way that Venus appears in our lives, by transit, transits to Venus in our natal chart as well, giving us a clear sense of what we find ugly or unappealing or what we're averse to we don't like.
And that is sometimes just as important as clarifying what we want or how we're going to go about getting what we want. We talk a lot about manifestation. You know, there's a lot of that talk in New Age culture. Personally, I find it sort of appalling.
Personally, I find it all stupid. No, I'm just kidding. I'm teasing, of course. But what? Because I'm much more interested not in trying to manifest something, but as a creative I like to follow things and see where they go, because that's just my experience creatively.
I don't like trying to manifest something that I have an idea of in advance. I like to watch things manifest because I follow them creatively. Like creative writing, for example, that's a little bit more how I work. But anyway, all of that is just to say that sometimes it just like, I'll never I'll never forget when I was in graduate school for creative writing, there was a Saturn transit happening in my chart.
During that time, it was in my third house. I was in cancer, and that's where my sun and mercury are. So lot of kind of writing there for me, I remember getting this very clear sense that I was trying to write in a literary style that I was seeing modeled for me by people in academia.
There's a very particular style everyone writes in. And I'm not trying to be a dick, it's just true. So I was like, I just reached this point where I was like, I just don't want to write that way, and I don't care if it doesn't get me published in journals that, you know, eight professors read.
I'm just just being real. No offense to anyone in academia. It's kind of a circle jerk. I'm sorry. I can't help myself, I'm saying cruel shit. Okay, so anyway, it was just became very clear that, like, I don't know what I'm gonna write, but it's not that.
It is not that. So, oh my god. So sometimes the real revolution is just getting quietly clear that, oh well, it's just, it's not this. I don't I don't actually like this. And you thought you did, and you thought you were going to commit to something.
And going forward, the process might be more about clarifying what you want or desire than moving toward it. Yet the gradual appearance of Venus as an evening star can happen simply because we get clear about where we're not going what we don't want.
Sometimes it's also like who I don't want to date, you know? And then everything else clarifies itself in time. Between now and March, your no will lead to a yes. So watch for that. A few others, honorable mentions, I had a lot in my bag today.
Just consider that change doesn't have to cost stability. These Earth signs want in the trine from Venus to Uranus, as Venus is being reborn, suggest to you that change in your life with deeper alignment between yourself, your life, your values, your desires, your wishes and aspirations, anything that makes you know you're going to have to work a little bit for it doesn't have to come at the cost of stability.
This trine to Uranus suggests that something truly innovative doesn't necessarily have to be disruptive. The trine can provide more flow than you might be imagining is possible. The other thing I would look at is that Venus almost always has to do with how beautiful or attractive we think we are individually.
For you know, we're attracted to things we like, certain food, like that. You know, a lot of Venus is external. It's what we go seeking, what we desire outside of ourselves. But there's an embodied sense of feeling happy and feeling pleasure in ourselves.
And so these earth signs can give you very practical instructions for how to embody a deeper, healthier sense of pleasure that just exists within you. So pay attention to that. Finally, I would say that any refinement of desires that go from, you know, self destructive to more to greater health and ease, for example, a lot of people in these early months of the year will take a month off from drinking.
Now, I'm a fan of that, because that just seems that just sounds like a good idea. But I would also question just gently, you know, well, if you need to take a month off from from drinking, you know, what is that saying? It might be suggesting that more moderation overall.
It's kind of like what I've learned over four or five years of hobby body building, is that consistent diet, consistent healthy food, consistent sleep and recovery, consistent cardio and resistance training, the consistency of those things Over time teaches you everything you need to know about moderating fun things, like, how often do I take a gummy and go to a concert, or how often do I have a drink?
Or whatever your health becomes, your health, your wellness and your happiness within in a real, authentic way, like, just like I am vibrant and happy and healthy, that becomes the guiding intelligence, because when you drink and you drink one glass, it doesn't throw you off the rest of your week when you're consistently healthy, but if you have two glasses, it does.
And then your body and your health and the amount of time it takes to feel as good as you were feeling becomes the teacher inside of you, you know. So I'm a big fan of, I mean, I'm not trying to rip on taking a sober month off, like, God knows that's better than a lot of things.
You know. It's like regulation is great, no matter how you're doing it. So I don't mean to sound like an arrogant, judgmental person. I up. But what I've learned and have seen over a long period of time is that sweeping, extreme corrective measures are never really as good as consistent, mindful measures.
This is a great transit Venus trine Uranus, as Venus is resetting in Capricorn to Taurus, of just being like, what's the, what's the mature move here that can be sustainable and long term, consistent and healthy, that really provides happiness, and that could be at work, it could be in a marriage or relationship, or your you know, your your your health, your diet.
I mean, really, any arena of life that has to do with the kind of finding a flow of good vibes and good feelings, which is what Venus is always offering us. And there's no there's nothing like I would say one of the things that people misunderstand about Venus the most is that Venus is a planet of alignment.
Think of think of Libra, the masculine sort of calculus sign for Venus. There's a lot of like, social algebra and all of that that can be a little like, you know, like a little disembodied or dissociative with Venus and Libra at times. But Venus and Libra also provides us with this brilliant insight, which is that balance is not something that's like a perfect static state, not just like your hormones, they're always moving in rhythms and cycles.
And Venus is about alignment. And if you find alignment, you find flow. And flow doesn't mean everything's perfectly peaceful or happy. It means that you You're never too high, you're never too low, and when you when you kind of get into a sweet middle spot, it's actually the texture and nuance of happiness is really, really rich.
When you find that kind of flow state that's always tends to be like right in the middle of things, that's really, as far as I've understood, what's meant by Balance. Balance is something that's not like a static state. That means you're not alive. It's a constantly fluctuating state that's defined by sensitivity and alignment, like a great question to ask yourself right now as a practice going forward, over the next weeks until Venus appears as the evening star is like, how am I feeling in my body right now?
What is my what is the wisdom of my body saying about what I might need or what, what's going to feel really nourishing or supportive. Anyway, I'll leave you there. That's it for today. I hope this was useful.
Always. The goal is to give you something useful, and by that I mean something that is useful spiritually, that elevates your consciousness and that helps you find that alignment every day. So Hilda has her alignment in her little bed right now, so you can take that image.
She makes things really uncomplicated, all right, that's it. Take it easy, everyone. Bye, bye.
