Have you ever noticed that the most profound shifts in life don’t always announce themselves with a bang? Sometimes, they arrive as a whisper, a subtle nudge in the dark. Then, weeks later, a moment arrives that makes that whisper undeniable—a flash of lightning that illuminates the path that was quietly being paved all along.

This week, we are in the middle of just such a moment. We are going to explore the upcoming Mars square Uranus, but we’re not looking at it as an isolated event. Think of it more as a karmic aftershock—a powerful reverberation from the recent Solar Eclipse. The eclipse planted a seed in the depths of your chart, a subtle shift in the tectonic plates of your soul. Now, Mars is crossing that very same degree, and it’s bringing a surge of electricity to the surface.

This isn't about something new happening out of the blue. It’s about something that was already stirring beneath the surface finally demanding to be seen and moved. It’s the ignition switch being flipped on a process that began in the shadows.
The Eclipse wrote a question in the margins of your life. Mars Uranus is the moment you’re handed a pen and compelled to write the first sentence of the answer. It is not the creation of chaos, but the revelation of a direction you were already, quietly, headed.
In this video, we’ll look at the specific signatures of this transit: the potential for sudden breaks within systems and structures, the way our material resources and even our technology can become synchronistic clues, and the undeniable agitation in our own nervous systems that signals a need for a new kind of freedom. We’ll talk about how Mars in Aquarius acts as a destabilizer of the status quo, not for the sake of destruction, but for the sake of a necessary update—a spiritual software update for your life.
We are in a profound moment of sequencing. The astrology of the week is a continuation of a much deeper story. Let’s walk through it together, with an eye for the soul’s logic and a heart ready for the change that is asking to be born.

Hey everyone. This is Adam Elenbaas from Nightlight Astrology [https://nightlightastrology.com/].
Today we are going to explore the upcoming Mars Uranus Square.
We're going to be thinking about this today in light of the recent Eclipse as well, because the square from Mars in late Aquarius to Uranus in late Taurus is happening almost exactly at the recent Eclipse degree.
So we're going to talk about that and try to contextualize the Mars Uranus square as a kind of echo or reverberation of the recent Eclipse, a kind of carryover that is a promised part of the sequencing, you could say, of the Eclipse. So that's our agenda for today.
Before we get into it, remember to like and subscribe. If you are not yet subscribed, it takes a second to click the subscribe button, and it helps us tremendously. So we deeply appreciate it. You can find transcripts of any of these daily talks on the website. That's nightlightastrology.com.
A couple of promotions for the day, and then we'll get into it. Go over to the website right now. First of all, go to the Events page. Click on immersive retreat. We're down to something like 10 spots left for the Oracle Within training and theory and practice of divinatory astrology taking place in Mexico in June.
This is going to be a really deep, transformational week, I think, a healing week, and a week of a lot of learning in community and also, you know, time together to relax, hang out at a beautiful spot by the beach. So hope to see some of you there. Check out the link on the website under the Events page if you feel like joining us.
Next thing I want to make sure you're aware of is that every single day now, at Nightlight in the mornings, if you want to start your day with a little quiet time, we have a daily community meditation gathering that takes place seven days a week, Monday through Saturday.
The schedule is 9:30 am Eastern Time and 8:30 Central. And then on Sundays, we meet for Silent Sundays, kind of like the way of capping off a week where it's a little bit longer, about an hour and 15 minutes. We sit for 30 minutes on Sundays, and then we have time for reflection, sharing, conversation, processing and integrating our weeks together.
I found that this is just a really great way to provide something that's a benefit to people who enjoy the spiritual focus of this channel anyway, that's free, so check it out. The Zoom link is right there to join any day you want.
And then the next thing on my list is to tell you about the readings we have, because we've got need-based astrology readings. So there are different tiered pricings available from natal chart readings to make sure that it's affordable and doesn't price people out of getting a reading. That's a big part of our vision at Nightlight, is to make sure astrology is financially accessible for people.
I give horary readings. Horary is a little bit more yes/no, outcome-based predictive technique. But check that out. It's all explained there on the Readings tab. I'm only giving natal chart readings now within the context of my training programs, trying to empower staff and students to develop their practices. Sorry, lost my words.
Last thing I'll mention: our monthly talk. So go to Events page, click on live talks. You'll see that coming up on March 12, I'm giving a talk on the first house. A lot of people misunderstand the first house. They think about it somewhat superficially. So if you want the ancient origins of the meaning of this house in connection to the word dharma, in particular, we're going to be looking at that in depth in this talk coming up.
So check all that stuff out on the website. And now let's turn our attention to the real-time clock. Here's the real-time clock. What is it telling us? What little secrets does it have for us today?
So let's go forward. We sit here early in the week. We're looking at an event that is on the horizon right now, within the three-degree engagement range, which means you could be feeling this anytime now. But let's track out the exact perfection of Mars in late Aquarius squaring Uranus in late Taurus. The exact square is going to pass through on Friday, February 27, just after Mercury has turned retrograde.
We're seeing the last of the squares to Uranus. Every planet that was in Aquarius went through it: Mercury, Venus, the sun. Everybody's joined that Uranian block party. Now Mars is joining, and if we give it just a little bit of separation to enter Pisces, it enters Pisces March 2, Monday. So this is a major transit happening now throughout the rest of the week.
In addition to Mercury turning retrograde early next week, we have the Eclipse taking place in Virgo. We'll be giving more coverage on that as the week goes on, sort of preparing from an evolutionary standpoint. I've been doing some deep dives into the evolutionary reason that we need Virgo karma, Virgo experiences, Virgo lessons. We're going to be doing that like we have for Aquarius and Aries during the recent major events in those signs.
So what's important to note here is that this Mars Uranus Square also takes place on Friday, as Mars is moving on to the Eclipse degree. That means that this Mars Uranus Square is a bit of a karmic aftershock. You could think about it that way. I think that's an apt metaphor for the Eclipse. This is carryover from the Eclipse. This is the continuation of the eclipse.
This is bringing some of the Eclipse's first events or meanings to the surface, you could say, and it's doing so with all of the typical bravado of a Mars Uranus dynamic, which can be quite intense. So what I want to do today is give you a list of things to watch for. This list, as always, is brought to you in no particular order. It's just a way of trying to get at some of the most common things that happen when planets like this are configured.
I have shaped this with some eye for the Eclipse aftershock signature, and some of the specifics of Aquarius and Uranus. But also you'll find that these themes are pretty constant whenever Mars and Uranus get together. So let's go through them again. No particular order of importance.
Number one on my list: you're going to notice, especially given the Saturnian, fixed, airy quality of the sign of Aquarius, that Mars comes as a destabilizer, as a changer of traditions and structures and systems. This recent eclipse that we had was very Uranian. It was square to Uranus, the solar eclipse. Now we have Mars reactivating that square from the Eclipse degree.
So anything that happens to break a system. Breaking it doesn't mean destroying it. A break could be a break in the current order or the current way it's designed or functioning, such that a new way of doing it, a revised version, it's like a system software update for an app or something like that. It could be that there's a need to repair or patch or break or recreate the ordering or the programming of something.
This could take place in terms of abrupt exits from groups or systems or structures. That's a very Mars Uranus dynamic, sudden breaks. In fact, in sports, you'll often see Mars Uranus signatures at the time that someone has a season-ending injury, unfortunately. Knock on wood, I never want to predict stuff like that, right? But it's pretty common.
So abrupt tears or breaks or ruptures in groups or within systems that could indicate upgrade or update or advancement, but it comes at the cost of breaking from the status quo or deviating somehow. "I cannot participate in the way this is working," or "I can't do this this way anymore."
Any time with Taurus involved there, there could be some rebellion against certain material realities or material structures that are meant to create ease or flow or support, and some need for new ideas or inventions or a kind of new way of doing something that interrupts the status quo materially. Taurus doesn't always like that, but it may actually be to create a better or more appropriate form of material support.
You may also just see increased ideological tension with friends or within groups, shockwaves inside of organizations or communities. It's not just about anger, though. It's a kind of recalibration of something systematic and of one's identification within it. The proximity near the Eclipse point means that something's demanding action, or something is happening along a fault line of deeper change. So that's another way of thinking about it.
Number two: material resources changing form. I was alluding to this just a second ago, but this is where there could be sudden or unexpected shifts in markets or the marketplace. But translating that personally, you want to think about shifts or recalibrations of money or finances, or financial planning or something like that. If this was in the marketplace broadly speaking, and I'm not someone who works with financial astrology, you could see things like, just as a metaphor, a disruption in a supply chain, or a disruption to the availability of some material good or resource.
This is also on a personal level, where something that we rely on or depend on is currently being challenged or has to be retasked for some other purpose, and so it's not available to us. It could be that there are sudden needs or demands of our assets or material resources that are necessary in order to preserve security, but it also represents some kind of disruption.
There's also just anything that suggests, "Oh, hey, here's a better way of doing things," materially for health or body or money or for the sake of peace or ease. Mars Uranus can come as the disruption of someone saying, "I need a healthier lifestyle, but it's going to disrupt things to get myself up off the mat." So watch for material resources sort of being prodded to change somehow, a little irritating, but maybe good. That's a hope. Anyway.
Number three would be tech or infrastructure shocks. The first one on my list, sudden breaks in systems, could cover this. But I want to be a little bit more specific here. This is in the collective when Mars and Uranus get together. You often see things like power outages in some area that are more pronounced, or you'll see the digital breakdown of a platform, like, "Oh, Twitter's out for a day," or something like that.
But why? Like, what is going on there? What's really happening is that there's a jolt or a shock to some kind of technological system that often is coming at some kind of inflection moment. And it becomes really interesting to look at what that inflection moment might be that's peripheral to the actual technological disruption.
So for example, if your internet goes down at your house, a really good question to ask around an event like this is, what else is happening? Because the tech breakdown can be synchronistically connected to some other psychic sphere in life that seems like it should be something totally different. Like, how is my relationship connected to the internet going down? You know what I mean.
But the point is, watch for when technological or infrastructure things, and I'm thinking about electricity grid systems and computers or phones or cars, when those things in your life are on the fritz or there's some kind of disruption or change in the circuitry, then it becomes a tell for something else psychically. And it's amazing how reliable that connection is. And so that's why I created my own little category to say, look, there will also be glitches that happen in these very Mars Uranus ways and in Aquarius that might be within systems of information or technology or power grids or whatever.
But those events on their own, while they may have meaning on their own, will also often constellate around other systems or structures that are subtler. And so these become the gross way of pointing us to something subtle or unconscious. It's the lightning striking, though, basically, and the lightning striking is often metaphorical, as it's also connected to something literal. That's the point.
All right, number four is social or communal jolts. Let's call them. This would be where there's a sudden surge or movement of more revolutionary or resistant or defiant or aggressive behavior. So if a group is suddenly protesting something, or a social movement peaks or explodes, there can also be ideological fractures within groups or communities.
This is a time where you might see, I don't know, you could see a group of senators parting from another group of senators within the same party. I'm obviously using these collective images because we have so much Aquarius in the sky right now, and we're in the midst of a very powerful outer planetary configuration right now with Saturn and Neptune as well.
Anyway, the other thing that's interesting, because of how ideological Aquarius tends to be, is that breakaway factions can form and subgroups can become empowered, and there can become this sense of a cohesive group fracturing into warring parts that can really intensify around a transit like this. And obviously, we already have clear binaries in our country between two political parties.
So the very low-hanging fruit is intensified exchange between those established groups, but it just feels so beaten at this point to say that. It's like, really, you know? But I think what I would look for would be inflection points within those conversations, within established binaries, that could further diversify or create new or different kinds of splits or fault lines. I think that is probably a little bit more nuanced and interesting for those of us who live inside of different groups and communities and systems and structures in our lives.
Anyway, number five on my list is just nervous system stuff. The nervous system can get overloaded. The brain, the cognition, the how we perceive, how we speak, language centers, communication. If you think about the technology and just localize it in terms of our own software, our electrical signaling, our neurological networks, it is easy for impulsive decisions to be made in order to escape some kind of stagnation or stuckness that we're feeling. That's a classic Mars Uranus dynamic.
But also an irritability that feels really agitating and destabilizing and could be impulsive and reckless or destructive. Any kind of sudden insight that helps you change direction rather instantly, with momentum and a surge of excitement, seems like a plus. But anxiety can also spike, and you can feel really dysregulated and overstimulated.
Sometimes both. Sometimes the changes that need to happen directly and instantly are rather impulsive, and they do spike anxiety. And that doesn't mean they're not still necessary. Life isn't always just going to be like, okay, you get to have powerful change and be calm at the exact same time. That just seems to be the case anyway.
I say that also kind of jokingly, with Uranus in Taurus in the background, sort of being like, "Does this revolution lead to me feeling more comfortable?" That might be part of what we're thinking about right now. So there's that. But Mars Uranus is like, "I just can't deal with this anymore. I'm not going to tolerate something anymore." So it can be a very radical moment of liberation from something, but the exact same thing can be destabilizing on the nervous system. So you want to watch for that.
I always tell people to just be a little bit careful of the stimulants around Mars Uranus and take a moment to breathe. Hey, if you need some, Hilda wants to go see Ashley, so I'm gonna let her out. She's so polite. She knew I was done with my talk, the bulk of my talk. And as soon as I was like, hey, and I shifted gears, you could see she stood up and she was like, "All right, I need to get the hell out of here." Ashley's been home for like five minutes. I can hear her.
Anyway, so yeah, this is a moment that reactivates the Eclipse, and it's an important moment to take care of yourself. All of these transits recently have really led me to realizing that there's something that was feeling like, what is the next thing my channel wants to offer? At the end of the year during the Kickstarter, I always think about it in the year ahead.
And what started coming out of that space was free daily meditation, because that's where the content comes from. It has for as long as I've been an astrologer and longer than that. So I thought, well, let's just open it up. I do it anyway. So let's just make a Zoom group. People can sit with me online in their own living rooms. Let's do it.
So that's there for you. If you want that, please check it out, because these are tough times we're living through, guys, and you all know that I'm preaching to the choir when I say that. But sometimes we think that meditation is like a luxury. It's not. It's survival, really. I see it that way personally. To sit down quietly for a couple of minutes every day, whatever you want to call it, just sit quietly. Anyway, that's there for you. Just know it's there for you.
A couple of things to conclude with. Because Mars is near the Eclipse degree, events now may be directly connected to the meaning of the Eclipse. So if you want to go back and listen to eclipse horoscopes on the channel, now would be a good time to do that, because you're going to see a reactivation of Eclipse themes.
Something that was seeded then may now demand movement, or maybe at a first point of action or outcome, early outcome. Conflicts that were subtle and boiling beneath the surface around the Eclipse may become more undeniable. Some people, I've already seen some people, say that Eclipse was kind of unremarkable, and I'm always like, yeah, understood. On that level, yeah, I can see some eclipses on the day of don't feel like much.
But then watch very carefully when planets cross the Eclipse point, or as transits unfold in the next couple of moon cycles. Keep an eye on that point in your chart. Eclipses are process-oriented things. They're moon cycles. Moon cycles are not as dramatic as like a Mars Pluto opposition on the three days before and three days after. They're a little deeper and more process-oriented than that. So you have to track little things like this to really notice them.
I guarantee you this Mars Uranus dynamic will be poppier than the day of the eclipse itself. Probably the reason for that is because it reactivates the Eclipse, but it does so through a more acute dynamic with Mars, for God's sake.
Right now, Mars and Saturn have mutual reception. Mars is in Saturn's sign. Saturn is in Mars' sign. They're sextile to one another by whole sign. So we are talking about an inflection point within structures and systems, and the idea of revolution within those systems or structures. And it could be like a mini revolution.
I know some of you get sick of using the word revolution all the time. I do too. But revolution can be as simple as an everyday level of application for that word. It doesn't have to be the French or American revolution for there to be something that turns quickly and suddenly.
Turning quickly and suddenly is the actual meaning of the word revolution, and it doesn't even have to be quickly and suddenly. But when we talk about revolution, we're talking about turning, which is what revolution means. And we're talking about a turning point that's more dramatic and sudden, and it represents often a break, a rupture, or disruption of something else. That's this transit.
But it's also connected to the eclipse. The eclipse was kind of like the shadow, and Mars you could think of as the ignition switch, in a way. So if something was sort of destabilizing or shifting directions, or something new was kind of developing quietly around the eclipse, this is a moment where things are going to spark a lot more.
Okay, that's it for today. I hope you guys are having a good one. We'll see you again tomorrow. Bye, everyone.
